Exceptional Condition. There are just a couple of very minor marks on the top of the guitar. Solid Spruce top, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides. Guitar is fully multiple bound with "antiqued" cream bindings. Radiused Ebony fretboard with Abalone inlay at the 12th fret. Mahogany neck, gold Gotoh tuners. Ebony peghead overlay with Alvarez inlay. Ebony bridge and armrest, 1 3/4" width at nut. Electronics work great. Sound and playability are quite good.

VG.(+) Condition. There are two un-repaired side cracks on the trebe bout. There is lacquer checking throughout, and a fair number of dents and dings on both the top and back. Moderate fret wear. Tuners have been replaced. Strap button installed in middle of heel. Adirondack spruce top with multiple tortoise bindings. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Very high grade exquisite Red Spruce top showing signature Red Spruce character and grain including medullary rays and a hint of red. Indian Rosewood back and sides. Mahogany neck. Brazilian Rosewood, bridge, peghead overlay, and heelcap. Two soundports installed on upper bouts, with matching rosewood covers. Radiused ebony fingerboard with abalone music notes sprinkled down the fingerboard as position markers with dove in flight at 12th fret. Titanium frets. Gorgeous paua abalone soundhole rosette and top bindings are as beautiful as you will ever see. Multiple wood bindings enclose a stunning line of paua abalone on the top. Wooden marketry backstrip and tail strip carefullly mitered in to bindings. Lighter wood line showing on side, back and top inside ebony. Dove in flight abalone inlaid at top of peghead. Gold Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons. Ebony endpin and strap button with inlay installed by builder. Bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins. Sound is relatively large and complex for a guitar of this size. This is a beautiful instrument.

New. This is a great early mandolin from a local builder, Don Dryer. We have had the pleasure of watching Don's instruments evolve into beautifully crafted tone producers in just a few short years. Don is just one of those guys who gets great tone, but also has the near-perfect craftsmanship to go along with it. Strikingly beautiful highly figured Maple back, sides and neck. Red Spruce top. Tobacco sunburst finish. Fully multiple bound. Nickel hardware. Allen tailpiece. Tuners have ivoroid buttons. Radiused Ebony fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. 1 1/8" width at nut. Flowerpot inlaid in peghead. This is a fine mandolin... in fact I would say it is world's beyond most builders for mandolin #4. It is very alive and resonant with no distractive unresolved tones. Great balance, great low G string. Depth, nuance, projection... they're all here. This mandolin has only been here a few short days, but already local players who've tried it are quite impressed.
