Exceptional Condition. There are just a couple of very minor marks on the top of the guitar. Solid Spruce top, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides. Guitar is fully multiple bound with "antiqued" cream bindings. Radiused Ebony fretboard with Abalone inlay at the 12th fret. Mahogany neck, gold Gotoh tuners. Ebony peghead overlay with Alvarez inlay. Ebony bridge and armrest, 1 3/4" width at nut. Electronics work great. Sound and playability are quite good.

VG.(+) Condition. There are two un-repaired side cracks on the trebe bout. There is lacquer checking throughout, and a fair number of dents and dings on both the top and back. Moderate fret wear. Tuners have been replaced. Strap button installed in middle of heel. Adirondack spruce top with multiple tortoise bindings. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Gorgeous paua abalone soundhole rosette and top bindings are as beautiful as you will ever see. Multiple wood bindings enclose a stunning line of paua abalone on the top. Wooden marketry backstrip and tail strip carefullly mitered in to bindings. Lighter wood line showing on side, back and top inside ebony. Dove in flight abalone inlaid at top of peghead. Gold Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons. Ebony endpin and strap button with inlay installed by builder. Bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins. Sound is relatively large and complex for a guitar of this size. This is a beautiful instrument.

New. This is a great early mandolin from a local builder, Don Dryer. We have had the pleasure of watching Don's instruments evolve into beautifully crafted tone producers in just a few short years. Don is just one of those guys who gets great tone, but also has the near-perfect craftsmanship to go along with it. Strikingly beautiful highly figured Maple back, sides and neck. Red Spruce top. Flowerpot inlaid in peghead. This is a fine mandolin... in fact I would say it is world's beyond most builders for mandolin #4. It is very alive and resonant with no distractive unresolved tones. Great balance, great low G string. Depth, nuance, projection... they're all here. This mandolin has only been here a few short days, but already local players who've tried it are quite impressed. Exc(-) condition. Mahogany "OM" (Orchestra Model), guitar that has been used, but well cared for. Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck. Choice Sitka Spruce top. Ebony fingerboard and bridge and pins. Bone nut and intonated saddle. Brazilian peghead overlay. Nickel Waverly tuners (handmade in Montana). Some pick rash on both sides of soundhole and some moderate fret dents in first position, but not buzzing. A few small dents in the finish on the Spruce top. The guitar looks, feels, and sounds fabulous. The high grade Sitka top is nicely wide open. It has a quick and honest attack with full tonal response. Great balance, plenty of volume and projection. Exceptional condition. This guitar is from the highly respected builder, Michael Marler, who passed away in May 2005. This guitar exhibits craftsmanship at the highest level of guitar building. Not only did he use the finest woods, but Marler's methods are impeccable. Barely any signs of player wear. High-grade Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. High-grade Adirondack Red Spruce top. Mahogany neck with three-piece stringer down the center from peghead to heel. Gabon Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Rosewood peghead overlay. Flamed koa bindings work so attractively in tying together the different woods around the edges of the body and peghead. Peghead has very artistic rose inlay of gold pearl, white pearl, and abalone. Face of peghead shows multiple wood marketry strips inside the koa binding. Handmade brass truss rod cover. Gold Schaller tuners with ebony buttons. Gabon ebony fingerboard has cut diamond inlays and also shows a purfling line all around the fingerboard, like a picture frame. Top is very high grade Adirondack Red Spruce showing all the aspects of red spruce: grain variation from wide to tight, beautiful medullary rays, and red streaks. Top has elaborate yet tasteful soundhole rosette of multiple wood purflings with a centerpiece of very intense abalone. Gabon ebony bridge with boxed intonated bone saddle. Beautiful original nut. Multiple wood purflings are also seen along the top, sides, and centerseam of back. Flamed koa heelcap also shows multiple wood purfling. Flamed koa endwedge also mitered in with multiple purflings. Original clear pickguard. Ebony bridgepins. Jack professionally installed, but no pickup in guitar. Mr. Marler installed the jack while building instead of a regular endpin so that a future owner could have a pickup installed without needing to drill the hole.
